About Me
Richie Chooi (徐浩杰), the director of Richie Production. Born Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Found out he had Cinephilia in his later journey.
Grew interest in photography during high school, and later pick up making videos for co-curriculum societies in school.
Took a gap year after graduating high school as a freelancer to gain experience in the field of photography and videography. At the mean time, the hunger of becoming a film director and the urge to make film grew bigger and bigger.
Flew four and a half hours to Taiwan and completed his degree, major in Film, Shih Hsin University. In the 4 years studies, has widen his horizon and slowly elevate his filmmaking skills, and wanting to build his credentials as a film director. His final year short film project “Alice in the Wanderland” was successfully nominated in a few film festivals internationally.
Flew another four and a half hours back to Malaysia, seriously building his career focusing in Commercial, Advertisement, Brand Story, etc. Most importantly he holds huge passion finding opportunity in making films in Malaysia to show his love for his beloved homeland 🇲🇾.
